Marching Cavaliers Bring Home a Win
The Marching Cavaliers took first place overall for Class AAA schools in the Lynchburg Classic recently.
The band also placed second overall; first place in Class AAA for general effect, and second place honors for music, visuals, color guard and percussion among Class AAA schools.
The title of the performance, led by drum major Ciara Keen, was titled “Da Bluze!” a jazz-inspired performance including original music written by Barry Hart, along with a classic, “House of the Rising Sun.”
“I’m very proud of our marching band,” Tyler Hoffman, a senior football player said.
Allison Haran said “The band worked really hard for this win and they deserve the first place.”
“I credit the band’s excellence to the foundation the previous band director, Earl Brooks, laid throughout his many years with the band,” said Logan Epperly, band teacher.
