The Danville Harvest Jubilee announced Nelly will be performing live in Danville on July 8th.

Nelly, a Grammy award winning rapper, entrepreneur, and actor, will perform at the Carrington Pavilion this summer. Nelly  previously played at Blue Ridge Rock Fest, in 2022, as part of the club experience.

Nelly has previously collaborated with big name musicians such as T-Pain, Chris Brown, and DJ Khaled. He is also known as the creator of Apple Bottoms, and has starred in a few movies, and competed in season 29 of Dancing with the Stars.

“I’m super excited. My mom and I both are huge fans, and are definitely going to try and grab tickets,” said Autumn Brady, a senior.

The Danville Harvest Jubilee will have food trucks, music, and activities for the family. It will take place at the Carrington Pavilion on Craghead Street.

Some people are worried that Danville isn’t prepared for an event of this size.

“Something tells me it’s going to cause some issues. The Jubilee is something family friendly that kids usually attend. Nelly is going to bring a whole different crowd,” said Dylan Buchanan, a senior.

Tickets go on sale April 7 at 10 a.m.
