George Washington High School Out on Threat

For the second day in a row, GW High students are out of school due to a threat.

An employee notified school officials about an email threat Monday morning.

The Danville Police Department is working with the school system and Virginia State Police to determine the validity of the threat.

“It does not appear to be a legitimate threat,” said Matt Bell, spokesperson for the DPD. “The school system asked GW students to remain at home Monday, out of an abundance of caution.”

The school remained closed Tues., Feb. 14,  while police continue to investigate.
