Many people dream of the perfect jobs growing up.
“When I was younger, my dream job was to become a teacher,” Sara Carannante, freshman, said. “My dream job now is to become a pediatric nurse. Being a pediatric nurse interests me because I love working with kids, and being a part of keeping them safe and healthy will be something I would love to do. The skills you need for this job are being good with kids, having patience, and just overall being a good person. I got inspired by this job, truthfully, from watching Greys Anatomy,” Carannante said.
“My dream job growing up was becoming a veterinarian,” November Hutchinson, freshman, said. “Now I want to become a hair stylist. I want to do this because I love being able to do other people’s hair. The only skill you really need to have for this job is really knowing how to do hair. I was inspired by myself for this job because I’ve played with people’s hair since I was little,” Hutchinson said.
People typically don’t become what they want to be when they are younger.
“I always wanted to become a teacher growing up,” Izzy Hawker, senior, said. “But now I want to become a pediatrician. I love kids and want to help them get better. Being able to be sweet, caring, and smart means so much to me. No one really inspired me not to want to do this job,” Hawker said.
“My dream job growing up was to become a physical therapist, and I still want to be that now,” Hadley Davis, junior, said. “I want to do this because I can help people with injuries and give them exercises to get better and back on track. You need to be able to be friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable about how to do the exercises and the process of getting people better. My cousin is a physical therapist, and I remember talking to my parents about her job, and I thought it was a really cool job from the start.”
Sometimes dreams do come true for some people.
“When I was little, my dream job was to be some kind of doctor,” Addysen Rawley, sophomore, said. “Now I want to study kinesiology and become a chiropractor. It is something I at least somewhat practice almost every day right now. Well, at least the kinesiology part, KT tape, and taking care of my body when I need to. No one in particular really inspired me, it’s just something I enjoy learning about and expanding my knowledge on,” Rawley said.
