For some students everyday life is a minefield of fears.
“My biggest phobias, are spiders, I have always been afraid of spiders especially furry ones,” Cole Estep, junior, said. “I have had this phobia since I was at least seven; I hated seeing them in my house.”
“I am terrified of small holes, I do not know where it originated from, but small holes together make me uncomfortable,” Adrienne Slatoff, senior, said. “I have not liked small holes since middle school; honey combs specifically, make me itch when seeing them up close.”
“I personally feel that phobias are not dramatic, I feel some people genuinely fear certain things because of childhood or how it makes them feel in general,” Aiden Touchstone, senior, said. “I do not have a anything I would consider a phobia, but I am afraid of enclosed spaces, but it does not make me feel hopeless when I experience them.”
“I think some phobias are a tad dramatic, but I never comment on them since everyone is afraid of something,” Ramia Gashan, senior, said. “I do have a phobia though; I am afraid of the ocean, specifically the deep parts. It is not just the ocean in general, but the huge animals that live in the ocean.”
“I have a terrible phobia of snakes; they make me feel stuck when I see one in person because of how dangerous they are,” Ethan Pool, junior, said. “I have been afraid of snakes since the age of nine when one showed up in my garage, and they have shook me ever since.”
