Chatham vs Magna Vista

Chatham Cavaliers win their rival game against the Magna Vista Warriors.

Lady Cavalier Cora Liggon, sophomore, pitched the entire game, striking out 14 batters and only giving up three hits. She also went two for three up to bat and hit the walk-off run for the Cavaliers.

Trinity Custer, junior,  had three RBIs also two TBs. Nicole Emerson, junior,  had a double and a single, followed by Liggon hitting a double for a walk-off win.

“We really fell behind in this game and played for ourselves rather than playing for each other,” said junior Brailyn Patterson.

Cora Liggon starts her pitch against a magna vista warrior.

“The team was not energetic like we normally are so we fell behind but came out with the win,” said Sydney Scarce, freshman.

“I came up to the plate with a full count of three balls and two strikes, and I swung at the next pitch slamming the ball to center field scoring Emerson for the walk off win,” said Liggon.

“As we start the next game on Wednesday, we will be coming out ready to win against Dan River and taking steps to place first in our district,” said Custer.
