The practice of good daily hygiene is essential—not only for personal health, but also for keeping classrooms clean.
“Daily hygiene is important because bacteria can build up quickly if people don’t wash,” Madison Busby, sophomore, said. “Poor hygiene can leave someone dirty which is unpleasant for the person as well as those around them.”
Busby said the basics of staying clean include showering regularly, using deodorant, and brushing teeth.
“People can take better care of themselves by setting alarms or reminders and by offering deodorant to friends who might need it or asking whether they have been keeping clean,” Busby said.
Classmate Kytara Owens agreed.
“Poor hygiene can hurt people’s noses severely,” Owens said. “Good hygiene habits such as wearing deodorant, taking showers, brushing teeth, washing your face, and washing your hands make a big difference in how someone feels and smells throughout the day.
“Smell yourself and clean yourself everyday.” Owens said.
Owens also suggested reminding friends to shower or offering deodorant if they need it.
