Playing Varsity Basketball as a freshman is a huge achievement and a big task.
“When I first found out I made Varsity, I was overflowing with so many emotions,”Jabria Williams, freshman, said. “I was nervous but excited at the same time.”
“Something I love most about Varsity basketball is the bonds I have created with the players and the coaches,” she said. ” Among the team I feel like I fit in well; each of my teammates are supportive in their own way,” she said.
Chemistry among the team has a huge impact on their wins.
“Each and everyday I practice as much as possible,” Williams said. “I have a point to prove to myself, my family and my teammates.”
“I am new to playing Varsity so I am bound to make mistakes,” she said. “Every mistake I make, my teammates are always there to pick me up.”
“I would say that the competition on Varsity is a lot more intense than Junior Varsity,” Williams said. “Going against harder competition helps me out a lot.”
