Valentine’s Day is a day celebrated on Feb. 14 every year; a day that honors love and affection.
Students and faculty enjoyed the day.
“I had a dress rehearsal for my dance competition,” Naomi Gregory, junior, said. ” My favorite thing about Valentine’s day is sharing love, and I spent it with my family. I got flowers, a pink teddy bear, and candy. To me, Valentine’s day means being able to express love and spend time with the ones you love.”
Some spent part of the day working or playing sports
“For Valentine’s day I prepared for my SAT in college,” Adam Tate, computer teacher, said. ” My favorite part of this special day used to be the candy parties we had as kids. I spent this special day with my nephew. What I got for Valentine’s Day was some A’s in my college classes. Valentine’s Day has a deep meaning to me. It means reaffirming your feelings for your significant other. I feel like the gifts that are given are not about what you get it’s about the effort you put into the gift.
“On Valentine’s Day I had a volleyball tournament,” Jasmine Smoot, sophomore, said. “My favorite thing about this memorable day is spreading love and kindness to those who don’t have it. I was surrounded with love by my mom, sister, and boyfriend. I got some peonies, a red teddy bear, and lots of candy.”
Still others were more traditional, and spent the day with their loved ones.
” During Valentine’s Day I spent time with my partner,” Allana Plummer, sophomore, said. ” The best thing about this day is getting to show my significant other the affection she deserves; I spent Valentine’s day with my GOAT Tiffany. We got dinner at Harbor in Lynchburg and some milk chocolate. For me, it means to love and spend time with your partner.”
