Many students wish for the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities that are not offered at CHS.
Most females wish that Chatham had a tennis or pickleball team.
“I wish Chatham had either a tennis or pickleball team because they are both a lot of fun and the girls could wear super cute outfits,” Peyton Owen, junior, said.
“A tennis team would have been great to have here,” Harley Emerson, sophomore, said. “It would bring more variety in sports and encourage unathletic people to pick up a sport or hobby.”
“If we had a tennis team, I think that it would encourage athletes to play more than one sport and also influence people to find their sport,” Brianna Davila, junior, said.
“I wish Chatham High had a pickleball team because it is a very fun sport in my opinion and we need a wider variety of sports here,” Khloe Taylor, freshman, said.
Other students prefer to have different sports added to the list of extracurricular activities.
“I wish we had a swim team,” Devon Merricks, junior, said. “I think it will be beneficial for students and it can get many students in shape and stay active.”
“I would like to have a dance team at Chatham,” Naomi Gregory, junior, said. “I have been dancing since I was little, so having a team at my school would be cool. A lot of girls here dance as well and cheer so I think it will get more students to interact with the school for a fun reason.”
“I wish our school had a lacrosse team because it’s an inclusive, team-work focused sport that builds resilience and conditions players,” Alyssa Abdelhadi, junior, said. “It also involves more protective gear than other contact sports to keep players safe.”
“Our school should have a badminton team to open up various sports to students and allows them to discover a sport that they may love,” Lilly Wyatt, junior, said.
“I wish CHS had a flag football team like the middle school has,” JaBria Williams, freshman, said. “CHS should have more contact sports that people also find fun and quick to learn to keep everyone in shape.”
