There are several things that could make high school a better experience.
School should start at a later time, more cell phone usage, and the cafeteria food should be better are all possible changes.
“The one thing I would change is the phone policy; we should be able to have our phones during lunch because 30 minutes out of seven hours will help us not want to be on it as much,” Kylee Taylor, junior, said. “The part of the school day that makes me stressed is the dress code, I wish to make it not so strict.”
“My one thing would be to change the book bag rule because it takes up too much time going from your locker to class,” Allana Plummer, sophomore, said. “I’d make it a rule to have final exams instead of SOL’s because of how stressful they are.
“If I were in charge, I’d change the school hours; I think we spend useless hours in school,” Khloe Taylor, freshman, said. “The part of school that makes me the most stressed is how strict the teachers are on how much work they give us. I wish they’d be more lenient with that because some people work at a slower pace.”
If students held the key, apparently a lot of things would change at school.
“If I was in charge, I’d make it more welcoming and apply more resources to help students with mental health,” Kylee Taylor, said.
“I would allow students to eat outside because everyone need sunlight, instead of being stuffed inside behind a computer,” Plummer, said.
“My one rule would be to allow students to have their cellphone during the 30 minute lunch period,” Khloe Taylor, said. “To feel more comfortable I’d say they could consent to us wearing pajamas.
