Chatham’s basketball boys and girls teams are ready for this season.

“I think this basketball season is going to be great, but it’s going to go by fast,” senior Jonavan Coles said.

“This season is going to be great because of my team and coach,” sophomore Jakiyah Giggetts said.

Last season, the girls basketball team made it to regionals but lost.

“If you want to play basketball and never played before, go for it;  that’s the only way you can get better,” freshman Markayla Mayo said.

“If you want to start, and it’s too hard work, harder and you’ll get better,” freshman Amare Word said .

“If you want to play, stay focused, motivated, and never stop your grind,” junior Jaden Breedlove said.

These former basketball players had many motivational words to give to any students interested in playing basketball this upcoming season.

“The people who watch the games think I’m a great shooter and defensive player,” sophomore Steven Glass Jr. said.

“The crowd thinks I’m a great post player and that I have great team sportsmanship,” sophomore Sydney Ward said.
