Recital week is a fun but very stressful week for most dancers.
“I’ve been dancing for seven years,” Addysen Rawley, sophomore, said. “I love recital week because I get to spend time with my best friends and showcasing all of our hard work from this season. My favorite part about recital is standing on stage during the blackout waiting for the music to play. My least favorite part of recital week is saying goodbye to another awesome year with my dance family, and bawling my eyes out because of how much I’m gonna miss the seniors,” Rawley said.
“I have been doing dance for 13 years,” Izzy Hawker, senior said. “Recital week is so much fun because I get to show off all of my cool skills. I love getting to see my friends my friends while I’m there. The worst part of the recital week is having to go to school the next week even though I’m so tired,” Hawker said.
Most girls start dance at a very young age.
“I’ve been dancing for 11 years,” Addison Younger, freshman said. “I enjoy recital week because I get to have fun with my friends. My favorite part is definitely performing for a crowd of people. I hate when I mess up on stage because I always feel like everyone saw it, and I’m scared I disappointed my teachers,” Younger said.
“I have been doing dance for 10 years,” Clara Fain, freshman said. “I love recital week because I get to spend time with my friends and show my parents how much I have learned this year. My favorite part of show is showing off all of our fun dances. My least favorite part is having to get up early and go to sleep late,” Fain said.
Dancers love showing off all of their fun dances.
“I have been dancing since the age of three,” Hollyne Weaver, freshman said. “I love and hate recital because I like to dance in front of a crowd and do my dances, but I hate it because it’s really stressful and chaotic. My favorite part is dancing and the late nights eating with my friends and family. My least favorite part is always being tired after and the quick changes are awful,” Weaver said.
