Howl’s Moving Castle, a film from 2004, is a gorgeous work of fiction.
Based on the novel by Diana Wynne Jones, Howl’s Moving Castle is a fantasy driven film that takes place in a whimsical setting.
The film follows the main protagonist, Sophie, as she seeks out the renowned wizard, Howl, to break a curse that has been cast on to her by the Witch of the Waste who causes her to become an elderly woman.
A thrilling tension is crafted when the Witch of the Waste preys upon the main protagonists of the story.
The relationships the characters have with each other are memorable. Watching the relationship between Sophie and Howl develop is heart warming and fun.
Through the duration of the movie, you watch as Sophie and Howl respectively learn to embrace their true selves along with the pair eventually falling for each other.
The smooth, stylistic, animation coupled with the gorgeous colors are more than pleasing to the eye. The movie has a certain charm to it that makes you feel at home and cozy. I recommend brewing some tea or making hot chocolate when watching this movie.
This movie gets a 10 out of 10 for me. This movie has the perfect blend of beautiful animation and touching writing.
I recommend this movie if you’re looking for a relaxing and fun watch to settle down for the day. You can find Howl’s Moving Castle on HBO Max, Amazon Prime video, and Apple T.V.
