The United States National Security Agency said it was only a matter of time until human civilization makes contact with extraterrestrial life.
Communications With Extraterrestrial Intelligence, written in 1966 by D. Callimahos, states the very mathematical probability of life outside Earth.
Some people believe we have neighbors in other galaxies based on that probability.
“I believe aliens exist,” Jaiden Lipford, senior, said. “I’ve never had a personal UFO sighting, but I think they exist somewhere we haven’t seen yet. I feel like they look a lot like us, but taller and more colorful.”
“No way we’re the only living things in a world full of billions of stars,” Elena Eichinger, senior, said. “I think they look like angels, or maybe transformers. It’s more of a gut feeling that aliens exist because I think life exists everywhere, and if you think about it we’re aliens too, at least to other planets.”
Not everyone believes extraterrestrial life is far from Earth.
“I believe that aliens live among us,” Amber Blevins, senior, said. “Maybe in Area 51 or some other facility, but they are on Earth, looking and living like normal people, protected by the government. It’s just a theory, but it makes sense to me.”
“I think there’s a chance; it’s a big universe,” Greenleigh Stewart, senior, said. “It has to be impossible for us to be the only ones. They probably exist in a whole different galaxy, maybe closer to us than we think. If they look like anything, I think they look like the characters from Area 51, where the aliens are just in a different decade than us, but live similar lives.”
Some people are indifferent to the idea of extraterrestrial life.
“I don’t really believe in aliens, or think about the idea of them,” James Bowen, senior, said. “I feel like if they look like anything they probably have no bones, like an octopus or jellyfish; if they’re flying in those ships, going light year speed, I think the inertia would crush their bones, so I feel like they look pretty different from us if they travel like that.”
“There’s so much out there, I believe extraterrestrial life exist somewhere in that,” Tristan Smith, senior, said. “I believe they live on a planet life Earth, and that they all look like Roger from American Dad. It’s just a fun thought, to believe in aliens.”
