Some students and staff find energy drinks harmful.
“I don’t drink energy drinks,” Lauren Coleman, a freshman, said. ” I’ve heard that they could give you heart attacks, so I’ve honestly been too scared to try one.”
“No, I don’t drink energy drinks,” Mrs. Sheri Williams, French teacher, said. “They are harmful and are horrible things that nobody should drink.”
“My parents don’t allow me to drink energy drinks,” Mariah Dickerson, a freshman, said. “They say they are harmful to the body, and I’m an athlete, so I don’t wanna have any risks to my body.”
Others don’t see a problem with drinking energy drinks.
“I used to drink about five energy drinks a week, but my parents cut me back to about two a week,” Madi Jarvis, a freshman, said. “They started having an effect on me because of how much I was drinking them; instead of giving me energy, they made me tired.”
“I drink around one to two energy drinks a week,” Roselynn Richard, a freshman, said. “If I drink more than one a day, they will make my stomach hurt. I think if you drink them in moderation and drink plenty of water, you should be fine.
