The building feels safer and more welcoming thanks to School Resource Officer, Silas Crews.
His daily presence is a comforting part of school life.
“My goal is to make sure students see me as more than a uniform, “ Officer Silas Crews, said. “I want them to know I’m here to help, not to scare anyone. ”
Being a school officer may be a lot of work, but there are positive things behind it.
“Every morning, Crews stands at the stairs greeting students as they arrive,” Gabe Wishnevsky, freshman, said.” The simple gesture makes a difference.”
He checks on students when others don’t.
“Crews is good at what he does,” Mr. Zackery Williams, science teacher, said. “Crews is the best school officer since I’ve worked here.”
Officer Silas Crews enjoys helping students and many other people.
“Crews has become someone students can talk to,” Chance Brumfield, ninth grader, said. “If you’re having a bad day, you can go to him and he’ll listen.”
