Blairs Haunted House

Annual Fire and Rescue Fundraiser
Blairs Fire and Rescue Haunted House invited The Joker.

The Blairs Fire and Rescue Haunted House opens Fri.,  Oct. 13.

“It’s all good, clean, family-friendly fun,” paramedic Ben Dalton said.

This event is the largest fundraiser for the volunteer department; it has been operated for over 35 years.

Dates for the haunted house are October 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, and 28.

“Michael Myers” is waiting for you…”

The event opens around 7 p.m. or when it becomes dark. The cost is $20 per person, with children under five attending free. Parking is free.

The location is 7100 US 29, Blairs, VA.

“I went last time in 2022 for the experience,” Harlie Brooks, sophomore, said. “I liked it after when I was reflecting on the experience, but not while I was there because I was scared. I was most scared when the characters popped out from behind doors holes in the wall. That definitely gave my heart a start. My adrenaline was pumping, and I just wanted to get out of there. When they followed me was pretty terrifying, too.”

This year’s haunted house features real life contortionists, a haunted trail, a creepy slimy tunnel walk, and a terrifying grand finale.

“I want to go to the Blairs Haunted House with my boyfriend because it will be a reason to get out of the house,” Dixie Campbell, sophomore, said.

Concession stands will offer hamburgers and hot dogs.

All money will benefit the Volunteer Blairs Fire and Rescue.

“I’ve gone before and liked it even though it was not really scary,” Sakai “Jordan” Motley, freshman, said. “I would recommend other people to go if they like jump scares. That’s when people jump out of no where and scream. I jerked back so badly I almost got whiplash. Some of them were not that bad. The worst one was one who jumped from behind the door; I wasn’t prepared, and it really scared me. I probably will go this year.”
