Students across the school are planning their Thanksgiving plates, excited for the food and family time that makes their holidays special.
Some students think Thanksgiving is all about the feast.
“I love the food because it’s good,” Gia Garland, freshmen, said. I plan to go back for five servings!”
Her favorite Thanksgiving food is sweet-potato pie.
“I love sweet potato pie because I barely get to eat it and it’s good,” Garland said.
“I’m most excited to spend time with my family because I love quality time,” Garland said.
One thing she is not excited for is chitlins.
“They stink and taste disgusting,” Garland said.
Thanksgiving food gets students exciting.
“I’m so excited for the food, especially for mac and cheese!” Loren Witcher, sophomore, said. “It’s just so good.”
Witcher enjoys spending time with family as much as the food.
‘I’m thankful for my family and the time we spend together on Thanksgiving,” Witcher said.
One thing she doesn’t enjoy about Thanksgiving is the dishes she has to clean after the dinner.
“I help clean up afterward, even though I don’t always enjoy it. I wash the dishes because I have to,” she said.
Others like mac and cheese the best, also.
“Mac and cheese is my favorite food on Thanksgiving,” Jamya Johnson, sophomore, said.
“I like quality time with my family most of all,” Johnson said. “I hope there will be plenty of my favorite food. I’m ready to eat all the mac and cheese, but I’m not ready for it to be gone.”
