Students are disappointed that their Halloween celebrations were stifled.
Many schools participate in Halloween annually, but others believe participation in the holiday should be limited.
“Most students of different religions don’t celebrate Halloween,” Zack Williams, a science teacher, said. “It would be nice to participate and to be more inclusive, but not everybody celebrates those holidays such as Halloween, and it’s better not to, so that people don’t start drama on why one holiday gets celebrated over the other or why their holiday gets left out.”
Others disagree with not participating in Halloween.
“A majority of schools are strict like not letting you dress up in costumes and makeup for Halloween,” Leah Waggoner, freshman said. “Schools should let students be more creative and dress up without breaking any rules, because students don’t have that much freedom and dressing up and actually doing Halloween themed activities at school would make the school day way much more fun and would make students more happy.”
