Some students feel like they’re alone at school.

“It’s pretty hard to find friends in school,” Addyson Martin, junior, said. “Everyone has their own clique, and I have mine; but sometimes I just want to branch out and meet new people, you know?”
Some students agree and see loneliness and bullying as similar.
“I walk around school all the time and see people alone and sticking to themselves,” Mykaela Logan, junior, said. “Every year, administrators speak about bullying and how they’re going to fix it, but it never changes. Bullying persists and even some of my friends feel like they can’t talk in some classes or even sit where they want in lunch.”
The national No One Eats Alone initiative started in Texas may have a positive effect here.
This initiative aims to keep students from eating alone.
“It’s definitely a way to subside bullying and bring everyone together,” Leonittas Weaver, freshman, said. “I’d like to see everyone getting along instead of segregating from each other and keeping to themselves.”
Other students figured it would be best to not worry about it.
“Even if the administrators do something like bringing in an initiative like that, there is no way students would actually be open to the idea,” Cole Estep, junior, said. “They’d probably just laugh and make fun like they did with Rachel’s Challenge.”
