Junior and senior girls who attend the Red Carpet Prom on March 7 at Atkinson Farm, Blairs, are excited about their hair styles.
“I think hairstyles that get in your face should be avoided,” Mrs. Elizabeth Alvis, math teacher, said.
Others are going for a more sensational, dramatic look.
“I want to dye my hair to match my dress,” Sofia Hernandez, freshman, said. “I think that minimal hairstyles fit prom [attire] better. I think makeup should be prominent.”
Others think a neutral glamour is better.
“Subtle makeup looks smooth on prom day,” Kendall Parsons, freshman, said. “I think hair accessories on prom are necessary, but I think they are a personal preference. I also think half-up, half-down hairstyles look the best with strapless or thin strap dresses.”
Hairstyles are a matter of personal opinion.
“I think girls should always avoid low and messy hairstyles for prom,” Alexis Burke, freshman, said.

“In my opinion, avoid extremes because they takes away from the dress,” Ellijah Tingle, senior, said. “I think a neutral look for prom is best because it’s a personal preference, and hair goes with the outfit more than the makeup does.”
“I think it’s better to experiment with hair color instead of sticking to traditional hair colors because prom hair is different from everyday hair,” Kenley Hollie, freshman. ” I think you should get your hair professionally done instead of doing it yourself. Up-dos are classy for prom. I prefer a bold colorful glam instead of neutral. Bold glam looks cool and cohesive.

Others have differing opinions.
“I personally don’t like how up-dos look,” Lyla Parris, freshman, said. “I feel that you look better if your hair matches your dress; especially red colors with curly hair.”
