Makeup lights up a girl’s heart.
“Back in sixth grade, I started wearing highlighter and mascara,” Brayla Pickeral, freshman, said. “It deeply influenced me, and made me fall in love with doing my own makeup at a young age. If I could use only one product for the rest of my life, it would definitely be mascara, because I love how it makes my eyes pop.”
Attention to lashes is very popular.
“When I was a toddler, I grew up playing in makeup, and it became a thing I do daily,” Nirvana Beame, junior, said. “If I had to choose one product to use for the rest of my life, it would be Kiss false lashes, because I love dramatic lashes.”
“I have been playing in my mom’s makeup since I was a kid, and as I got older I learned how to do it myself,” Brooke Deak, sophomore, said. “Mascara would be a makeup product I choose for the rest of my life, because I like the long and full effect it gives my lashes.”
Others prefer products for cheeks and eyelids.
“My earliest memory of makeup is when my mom did my makeup at two years old for dance recitals; it persuaded me to do my own makeup in fun ways,” Tensley Davis, freshman, said. “Benetint blush is one of my favorite products, and it would be a product I could use for the rest of my life, because I like the rosy look on my cheek.”
“For my go to look I go for an alternative style, which I describe as a dark eye makeup paired with a sharp eyeliner,” Pickeral said.
Still others like the whole effect.
“My favorite everyday makeup look is a soft natural makeup look, which is usually light blush, mascara, with a bit of highlighter.” Brooke Deak, sophomore, said.

“I usually get my makeup from Sephora because I feel they have more variety,” Brayla Pickeral, freshman, said. “Sephora has more high-end products.”
“I shop for my makeup at Target or Ulta because they have my favorite brand which is MCoBeauty,” Brooke Deak, sophomore, said. “I prefer Ulta over Sephora because Sephora doesn’t have my favorite makeup brands, but Ulta does.”
“Target and Ulta is where I get my makeup because their product does not break out my skin,” Tensley Davis, freshman, said. “I go to Ulta more than Sephora because it is closer to where I live, and I like their brand variety.”
