After a week of sunny escapes, staycations, and forgotten homework, the CHS school hallways are buzzing with spring break stories.
Some students experienced fun vacations.
“This spring break my family and I decided to travel to Myrtle Beach,” Chyanne Martin, freshman, said. “My favorite thing about my spring break was getting to go to the arcade at the boardwalk, and Family Kingdom Amusement Park at the beach; I enjoy the beach because it feels like I’m leaving all my stress behind, and when I come back I feel more relaxed because I’m away from all the stress and schoolwork from the prior week.”
“On my spring break, my family and I decided to go to Ocean Lakes, Myrtle Beach,” Melody Hyler, freshman, said. “My favorite part about my spring break was getting to go to Ocean Lakes; I enjoyed it because I got to go shopping and swimming, but when we got back I felt very sleepy and relaxed but also dreaded coming back to school.”
Meanwhile others enjoyed their time visiting places nearby home.
“This spring break my family and I went to Greensboro,” Victoria Farthing, sophomore, said. “My favorite thing about my spring break was going to many stores such as: Aerie, Smoothie King, Zumiez, Aeropostale, American Eagle, and a baby clothing shop, but I can’t remember the name of the store. When my family and I came back home from Greensboro, I felt exhausted, we had been walking all day, it was hot outside, and there were a lot of people out that day; it was fun but a lot.”
“During my spring break this year, I decided to just stay home and go shopping,” Brooke Deak, sophomore, said. “My favorite thing about spring break was being able to tan; I love tanning outside and being under the sun because I feel more confident when tanning. I only went shopping in Danville at Marshall’s, Beall’s, Target, Aeropostale. I went to get ice cream with my boyfriend at Bubbas; I got banana split dippin’-dots, and he got mango Italian ice, and when break was over I felt tired and very sad due to not being able to spend more time with my boyfriend and family anymore.”
“This year I decided to stay at home and hangout with friends in Danville,” Jaiden Lipford, senior, said. “My favorite thing about spring break was hanging out with friends because I was able to get out of the house for a bit and actually have fun, but when it was over I was really exhausted but I felt relaxed.”
