A freshman prefers an exotic pet over the average domesticated animal.
Many students want in their homes.
However, a certain freshman has other things in mind.
Sara Carannante, a freshman, wants an exotic pet in her future home. “My dream pet is an ostrich,” Carannante said. “I would love to hatch one and watch it grow up.”
Basic domestic animal are usually preferable.
Carannante disagrees. “Owning an ostrich would be so cool,” Carannante said. “They also get so big.”
An ostrich is the tallest bird in the world. Males get up to nine feet and females are slightly smaller. Carannante wants a male North African Ostrich, known for being the tallest.
Carannante also loves the features of an ostrich.
“I would love to have an ostrich in my backyard so I can watch it run,” Carannate said. “The way they run never fails to make me laugh.”
Carannante ultimately hopes to buy a home with multiple acres of land when she is old enough to be independent. She wants to hatch an ostrich egg and raise it on her own. She is aware of the dangers and things to look out for when she’s going to be caring for her ostrich.
