“The staff listens and cares; we are heard,” KV Martin, senior, said. “I feel an issue students care about a lot is not being able to carry their backpacks. I feel comfortable with speaking up about issues, because I always feel heard.”
“I feel like they listen, but then they don’t actually hear us, or try to do the things we recommend,” Jaiden Lipford, senior, said. “An issue I think students care more about how we can’t bring our backpacks in class, and how we have to use our lockers that are mostly across the school. I feel that if I have something important to say about an issue then they should listen.”
“They [Administration] have a way of doing things and when students speak up, we get in trouble,” Nirvana Beame, junior, said. “I think students care mostly about the dress code issue; and how it’s unfair. I am not comfortable with speaking up; I would say no, since administration like to talk behind some students’ backs, and if anything seems, or sounds “alarming” it’ll be all and anything they talk about.”
