AP Exams are on the horizon, and preparations are underway.
“I am taking the AP Language exam and the APUSH Exam,” Peyton Owen, junior, said. “I am most worried about my APUSH exam because I feel unprepared.”
Some students decided to opt out of taking the AP Exam.
“I am not taking the AP Lang exam because I did not want to pay for it,” Ethan Jacobs, junior, said. “I do not have money for all of that.”
Students are preparing for the test in a variety of ways.
“To prepare for the AP Lang exam; I am praying a lot since I cannot really study for it,” Devon Merricks, junior, said. “Mrs. Corwin is helping the class prepare by making us do practice essays. Practice makes perfect.”
“I am studying for my APUSH Exam on Knowt [an educational app] an hour a day,” Aaron Riley, junior, said. “Dr. Hodnett is making the do FRQs [Free Response Questions] to prepare.”
Students are worried for what some of their exams entail.
“I am worried about the exam because I want a good score so I can get college credit for it,” Merricks said.
“I am most worried about the APUSH Exam because it’s so much more information that I have to know from a broad time span, while I just have to write essays for the AP Lang exam,” Riley said.
Students give peers their advice for a successful exam session.
“My advice is to just go with the flow, and don’t overthink it,” Merricks said.
“I would tell my peers to not take these exams, and if you do it doesn’t really matter what grade you get because you don’t need good grades to get into heaven,” Owen said.
