I made this cake for my dad’s birthday.
Caramel cake:
2 cups flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 1/2 tsps baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 soft light brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/2 sour cream
1/2 milk
Caramel frosting filling:
3/4 cups unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups white granulated sugar
2 cups evaporated milk
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup cream
1 1/2 tsps vanilla extract
Caramel butter cream:
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tsp of caramel extract
pinch of salt
4 cups powdered sugar
1 to 2 tbsp heavy cream
