Each high school in Pittsylvania County is slightly different.
Some schools differ about enforcement of dress code, behavior, or appliances.
When students and teachers bring meals from home they have no way of heating them up.
Also, some students have food intolerances and allergies that necessitate bring their own food; the food is not palatable cold, but there is no way to heat it up.
“Dan River has microwaves in the cafeteria for students to use,” Michael Brown, Spanish teacher, said.
The student bodies are also behave differently.
“I like the students here more; they are a lot nicer,” Melissa Gery, Spanish teacher, said.
Some schools embrace diversity of opinion, ethnicity, and behavior.
“At CHS, more people who look like they would not get along are friends,” Dr. Gary Tucker, said. “Students are even nice to the special needs children; it is unique to see that in a school.”
