Weather in Southern Virginia seems to get weirder as the month goes on, and it is affecting students.
With what seemed like all four seasons in one week last week, and school being cancelled because of high winds just days after a small snow day, students and teachers alike are confused.
“The weather has been very up and down recently,” Mykaela Logan, junior, said. “It’s been heavily affecting my mood because I get happy when it’s warm outside and then the next day it’s snowing.”
“The weather is bipolar, I do not like how it goes from 80 degrees to snowing the next day,” Peyton Owen, junior, said. “I am not a fan.”
“I was happy because it was warm, and I got to wear a very cute outfit,” Owen, said. “I looked outside and the tree branches were blowing. If the tornado was coming, it was probably going to kill me anyways so I just wanted to see it.”
School cancellations also heavily affected students.
“I was deeply grateful for Mr. Mayhew’s consideration of student safety,” Devon Merricks, junior, said. “I was quite sad that I didn’t get to come to school and see my favorite teachers.”
