Seniors are eager about graduation day.
Some students have their plans ready for after high school.
“I’m ready to start my college career and get out of high school. So far I have had good grades, failed no classes, and basically just got everything done,” Jaiden Lipford, senior, said. ” After high school I want to study forensics and go to college to become a forensic medical examiner. I just went for a standard diploma because I’m a basic person, and I don’t want to extend my knowledge until college.”
“High school has been very long and took up time where I could’ve been doing other personal things, so, yes, I’m ready to graduate,” Emily Hankins, senior, said. “I think I feel accomplished after my four years of school; I made a lot of friends that’ll probably stay with me after high school. I’m going to DCC after high school, and I plan to either be a lawyer or a cop. I’m aiming for a bachelor’s because you can get more job opportunities with it.”
“I’m tired of school, but you only have high school to make either good or bad memories in four years,” Steven Glass, senior, said. “I feel very accomplished after my years at high school. I want to study business management and sports administration to be a sports agent. I’m going to do two years of community college and transfer to a four year. I went for an advanced diploma; no particular reason. I kind of just did it.”
Others plan to take time before immediately jumping into college.
“I’m tired of school and really ready to just get out,” Meagan Yeatts, senior, said. “I’ve worked my best to keep up my grades good if not decent. I’ve done everything I can to get my work turned in; basically done everything I needed to. My plans for after high school are to hopefully take a gap year, get a part time job, and save up for a small apartment closest to the college I want to go to, as well as not having to worry about spending all my savings at once. I don’t quite know where I want to go yet, but I have an idea. I’m going for a standard diploma because I didn’t feel like taking a language class just to get the advanced diploma.”
