Chatham High hosted the career fair on April 2.
Many people came to talk about their careers and the companies they work for, and to help seniors find a potential job right out of high school.
“I liked the career fair,” Greenleigh Stewart, senior, said. “There were a ton of different booths set up to go talk to the visitors. I really enjoyed the Chatham Library booth; The booth was very informational and cute, and one of my interests is to teach young kids.”
Not all students found a job they were interested in.
“I didn’t really find the kind of career I was looking for,” Jessica Robinson, senior, said. “It was okay, and everyone explained what they did well, but I didn’t find it useful for me personally. The Air Force booth was my favorite. The recruiter explained what her job entailed and what she did to get to that point.”
Some students found what they were looking for and more.
“I think it was super useful,” Elena Eichinger, senior, said. “I learned a lot about some potential job opportunities around here, or paths to a career, and I enjoyed my time at the career fair and hearing about all the different jobs there are. I think the Danville booth was my favorite.”
There are people who do find jobs through a career fair right after high school.
“I followed a career through a career fair,” Kristen Ross, nurse, said. “When I was in high school, I went to my career fair, and learned about a lot of health care careers. I picked working at a care facility for the elderly, then I quit that and moved up somewhere else.”
