First impressions form during a first encounter; some people deem them easily changeable, while others deem them important and hard to change.
“First impressions matter,” Roselynn Richard, freshman, said. “It’s your first meeting with somebody you may never see again, so the impression will last. I think impressions on people are hard to change because people are quick to judge; however, everyone deserves second chances because my own opinions and viewpoints are constantly changing, so my opinions on someone could change, too.”
“First impressions are very important because opinions are formed in the first few seconds,” Mrs. Melissa Gery, Spanish teacher, said. “I’m sure I’ve even given people bad first impressions probably every first school day I give some students a bad impression. Everyone should get second chances because we all make mistakes; however, for your viewpoint on someone to change is a lot of effort.”
“They matter because it is your first time meeting someone that determines what y’all think of each other,” Elizabeth Kendig, a freshman, said. “It’s hard to change first impressions if the person was disrespectful, but I think everyone deserves second chances because one situation doesn’t define a person.”
“I think first impressions matter because you’re viewing their character determining if they are a good or bad person,” Damari Jones, a freshman, said. “First impressions can change because everyone can change, but I don’t think change is easy; you’ll have to put a lot of work in.”
