Social media is a force in the lives of teenagers, shaping their identities.
“Social media is both a blessing and a curse because if used the wrong way it can affect people’s lives, but if used correctly it can be a delight of entertainment,” MarKayla Mayo, junior, said. “I try to limit myself, I mainly use it as a way to keep up with information about things that are going on in the world, distant relatives and I also remember their birthdays that way too.”
“I feel like social media can be fun and good but can also have a downslide,” Naomi Davis, junior, said. “I like to see what people are doing. You can catch up with people you haven’t seen and post what you’re doing. I use it to stay updated and for entertainment.”
” I think social media is both toxic and entertaining. You can see everyone’s individuality, creativity, and also learn new things,” Naomi Gregory, junior, said. “I use it to stay updated with friends, family, and also entertainment.”
“I feel like social media is depressing because you get to look into people’s lives,” Mykaela Logan, junior, said. “I get on social media and just doom scroll, procrastinate, and communicate with friends. I don’t like how you get to look into other people’s personal business.”
“I like social media, but sometimes it gets annoying,” Shara Clark, senior, said. ” I think it’s funny and entertaining.”
