Many students don’t enjoy taking exams.
Students are stressed with exams because they have a significant impact on grades.
“I think exams are scary because I don’t want to fail,” Leah Waggoner, freshman, said. “I don’t want to have to retake any of my classes if I do fail.”
“It’s really a stressful time because you are relying on yourself to pass the class,” Dabney Hicks, freshman, said. “Everyone is worried about getting good grades and passing their classes.”
These students say this, while others disagree that it’s stressful.
“Exams are not stressful because it’s just stuff you have learned in the past.” Kytara Owens, a freshman, said. “Also, teachers go over past information reteaching everything you will need to know for your exams.”
“Exams are not stressful because you have more time to review them and study,” Camron Polk, a senior, said. “If you have an A in your classes you don’t have to take the exams.”
“I think they’re easy because they’re easier to think about than SOLs,” Anna Garrett, a senior, said. “People make exams sound harder than they actually are.”
