Students bringing their own lunches to school have increased.
Some say the escalation is due to the cafeteria options not meeting expectations or tastes.
“I pack my lunch because the cafeteria options are expensive and unappealing; I also think students need more free drink options due to allergies,” Ms. Esther Darko, college advisor, said.
“I personally do not like some of the options that the cafeteria has to offer,” Jaylynn McConnell, freshman, said. “I also believe that the cafeteria workers should let us write down recommendations to change the rotation.”
People want options and different portion sizes.
“I like to have tastier food and more options so I pack my lunch; however, even if they did change the lunches, I most likely would still pack my lunch because I like to choose what I eat,” Bailey Hines, freshman, said.
“I believe in stopping work and eating more; I also think we need bigger portions to satisfy our hungry stomachs,” Coach Benjamin Burton said.
“I pack because I do not necessarily like the options that day,” Hollyne Weaver, freshman, said. “I also think we need more lunch lines to be able to get to our tables faster.”
“I can have a wider variety of food to pick from; I also think we need more free drink options, like water,” Abigail Wyatt, freshman, said.
