Students are excited about the Christmas season, but the official date varies.
Some students consider that the Christmas season begins the day after Halloween. Others say that Christmas doesn’t start until after Thanksgiving. Still others are in between.
Many insist that Christmas should wait until after Thanksgiving.
“I think the Christmas season begins the day after Thanksgiving because it is close enough to Christmas that you won’t get tired of celebrating it,” Greenleigh Steward, senior, said. “The fun Christmas events don’t start until after Thanksgiving.”
“I think Christmas starts after Thanksgiving because you should let the fall decorations have their moment and then put out the Christmas ones instead of having the Christmas decorations out for an extra month ahead,” Anaysia Redd, senior, said.
Others are ready for the decorating to begin earlier.
“I believe the Christmas season starts after Halloween ends,” Lacey Mulero, senior, said. “I would rather celebrate the whole Christmas season for a long period of time instead of putting it off just for Thanksgiving.”
“I think the Christmas season starts unofficially when the Starbucks Holiday cups drop,” Mrs. Janet Bishop, English department, said. “The decorations go up when we have time to do it.”
