Snow days can be a time to relax and spend time with family.
Many people enjoy snow days, but others believe it takes too much time off from school.
“I love when we have snow days,” Leah Waggoner, freshman, said, “I love snow days because they actually give students a break from a lot of the school drama, fights, SOLs, and just school in general because most of the time students don’t get time to spend fully with family or to focus on their interests or hobbies but I have to agree that although snow days are nice it gets to a point because to many can result in having to much makeup work or us having to make up more days.”
“I love and hate snow days,” Addely Guillen, freshman, said, “It’s a love-hate relationship with snow days because on one hand they are good overall for students because they get a break and time off school, but on the other hand having too many snow days can make students have to much make up work and can give them more stress and can even start to damage their overall grades.”
Others disagree and believe that there’s nothing wrong with having too many snow days.
“Nothing’s wrong with having too many snow days,”Madison Busby, sophomore, said. “There’s nothing wrong with having too many snow days in school because when you have a snow day teachers usually send you home with make up work so you can do in over the days that are snowy and you’re out of school so it’s a win win. You can still relax and enjoy the snowy season while not having to stress about thee work your going to have to make up when you come back.”
“I love when we have a lot of snow days,” Dabney Hicks, freshman, said “It helps calm students’ minds, and it’s the only time we ever catch a break besides summer. Not only that, but you get to play in the snow which is rare in itself because we barely get snow. Plus you don’t have to make up work when you get back because the teachers give you the work before hand so you can just do it over their snow day.”
