CHS has a new cheerleading team for 2023-2024.

There are twelve girls on the team; five are new members.

“I have been cheerleading since little league, and I love it,” Carmen Royal, junior, said.

“This is my first year cheering; I’m more into dancing. Cheer is just something for fun, but I do enjoy it,” Haven Jones, freshman, said.

“I would like new uniforms every year so that we can look different from the cheerleaders from last year. I enjoy cheering but it is not my priority,” Madeline Evans, freshmen, said.

“My favorite thing about cheering is getting food before the games,” said Madelyn Legge, freshman, said. “I do have a future in cheering because I enjoy cheering and it’s fun.”

“I feel as though cheerleaders are important to the athletic program because [cheering] is positive for the sports, and for tryouts you have to do two cheers and a dance,” Dakota Pontzluz, freshman, said.

“I have been cheering for nine years, I don’t see myself cheering in the future,” said Faith Hyler, sophomore. “My favorite thing about cheering is being with my friends.”
