    Bullying at CHS

Bullying has been an issue across the US; it is also a problem at CHS.

Bullying takes many forms and has many responses depending on the personalities involved.

Some students aren’t overly bothered by bullying while others’ lives are made miserable.

“I would say, ‘Leave me alone, I don’t want any trouble’,” Tennessee Groff, a sophomore, said.

Another common response to bullying is to retaliate against the bullies.

“If I were getting bullied, I would punch them in the face and make them stop bullying,” Bennett Hubbard, a junior, said.

Many were affected or knew of someone affected by cyberbullying.

The increase of technology has furthered the amount of cyberbullying.

Some students actually altered their appearance and/or personalities to avoid drawing an attention or response from bullies.

“I know this girl who got bullied by how she dressed, and it changed her completely. She used to dress Bohemian, but now she dresses basic and normal,” a senior said.

“Back in middle school, a bunch of bullies called me names about my teeth such as horse teeth, British, rock biter, snaggle dragon, El Salvadorian snorkel, zipper lips, tinsel teeth, monster mouth, and people told me it looked like my two front teeth look like two twin-sized mattresses. They even said my braces looked liked a cheese grater,” a freshman said.
