Varsity Girls Soccer team win district game

The Chatham Varsity Girls Soccer team won their first district game against Dan River recently.

Chatham won the game 2-1 by a pair of goals from freshman Delaney Haymore.

Dan River came into the game undefeated, but Chatham changed that on Wednesday night.

The first half of the game, neither team scored. The halftime score was 0-0. Dan River opened up the second half with a goal, then Haymore got a penalty kick and scored off. Two plays later, she got an assist from  Carys Johnston, sophomore, and scored a goal, making it 2-1.

Chatham goalie senior Quanandra Tunstall had key saves during the game.

The soccer team improves to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the district.
