Prom Dress Code

Students are expected to adhere to prom dress codes this year as always.

This year’s prom will be Sat., April 23, at Tuscarora Country Club.

The prom dress code guidelines:

Ladies

1) Dress shoes are required. Athletic footwear is not allowed;

2) No undergarments should be visible;

3) No low-cut or revealing necklines;

4) See-through apparel is not permitted;

5) The back of the dress should provide sufficient coverage as to not fall below the level of the navel when extended around the torso;

6) Dresses length or dress slits should be no shorter than four inches above the top of the knee when standing upright;

7) No bare midriff is allowed. Two-piece dresses must overlap; this includes the sides of torso; cross stitching on the sides is not allowed.

Gentlemen

1) Dress shoes are required. Athletic footwear is not allowed;

2) Tuxedos, suits or dress pants with jacket are required. Ties are also required;

3) No undergarments should be visible;

4) See-through apparel is not permitted. If shirts are thin or semi-transparent an undershirt must be worn;

5) No baseball caps are allowed;

6) Dress shirts must be worn at all times.

Some students have issues with the requirements.

“I think the slits in the leg should be a little different because it makes it harder to find a dress where the leg slit is only four inches above the knee” said Kelsey Shelton, senior.

“I think that there shouldn’t be any any restrictions on the back of the dresses because showing your back is not revealing,” said Kerri Lee, senior.
