Favorite Thanksgiving Desserts

Strawberry pretzel salad is a delicious dessert consisting of a pretzel crust, creme filling, and strawberry jello topping.
Honey bun cake has brown sugar in the center and a glossy vanilla glaze on top.

People at CHS love many different types of Thanksgiving desserts.

“Pumpkin pie in my favorite because I only get it once a year,” said Mrs. Rachel Corwin, English department. “My mom always gets the pie from Costco.”

Some people like the traditional Thanksgiving desserts.

“I like sweet potato pie, cake, lemon chess pie, and cheesecake because they are deliciously sweet,” said junior Norah Linn. “My grandma makes all the desserts except pumpkin pie because I don’t like it.”

People enjoy sweet potatoes in different forms.

“My favorite dessert would have to be sweet potato souffle,” said Ms. Miranda Quarles, college counselor. “My grandma makes it. It’s always the one dessert that you can count on.”

“I love honeybun cake for dessert,” said Mrs. Sandra Whitehead, guidance department. “I make it every year because my sons and I love it.”

Other people like non-traditional Thanksgiving desserts.

“I love my aunt’s strawberry pretzel salad,” said Logan Perry, junior. “It’s my favorite because it mixes sweet and salty perfectly, making it less sweet.”

“I like corn pudding because it is one of the only sweet things I actually eat,” said junior Riley Shields. “Another reason it is my favorite is because making corn pudding is my mom’s tradition.”
